•   What is ISA?
The Illinois State Police has developed a “Corporate Security Web Site” (now known as Infrastructure Security Awareness - ISA), to promote an information network among law enforcement and private security agencies. The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police has agreed to administer this program and has developed an application and screening process for prospective applicants and forwarding approved applications to ISP. The Corporate Security Web Site (ISA) was developed by ISP, to allow private security agencies access to international and domestic terrorism intelligence information. Confidential and sensitive information would not be available. Through the ISP Statewide Terrorism and Intelligence Center (STIC), private security agencies will receive a weekly intelligence bulletin containing information collected by ISP intelligence analysts. The web site will also list training opportunities for private security professionals. Finally, a web-based “chat room” has been established for participating private security professionals seeking specific information from other private security agencies. Members of the private security industry, who participate in the IACP Anti-Terrorism Committee, unanimously agreed that an application fee is required. The IACP has established an annual fee structure and all payments are made to the IACP. The Illinois State Police receives no money for their efforts. You may obtain an application from the IACP web page at www.ILCHIEFS.org or by calling IACP at 217-523-3765. Illinois was the first state to develop this opportunity for public/private sharing of information. The ISP is to be applauded for creating this concept and developing it to this present level. This is the best opportunity for private security executives to network with each other. As an example, this new application will allow Hospital Security Directors to contact Hotel Security Directors and Museum Security Directors to contact Corporate Security Directors. This is a great opportunity to exchange information among security professionals. For more information, contact: Laurence P.
